AÇÃO 1 - ENSINO ESCOLAR

"With this mobility in terms of social learning I learned to be more patient, to be more tolerant, to know how to deal with people with a personality that differs from mine.
In terms of teaching, as I am a student of languages and humanities, attending a course that in Portugal we name Sciences and Technologies, I had subjects that I had never had, namely Biology, Physics and Entrepreneurship. As far as the subject of Mathematics is concerned, I was able to revive subjects that I had already been taught in previous years.
Above all, the greatest learning was being able to communicate and write in Spanish, as I had never had Spanish in previous years.
This mobility also allowed me to further develop my English."
"I highly recommend that students participate in Erasmus because, for high school students like me, it is a very enriching experience for our lives and it can contribute a lot at school level, as for example in our
curriculum, because some universities and even jobs value much more people who have already been on Erasmus."

We are Maite and June, two students who have been in Gaia High School for 2 months. Each one of us has a different point of view since we both come from the same place, each one has been in a different class. June Zornoza: My two-month stay in Portugal has been a great experience that has contributed a lot to my personal growth. I have managed to appreciate the things around me, to assert myself and to face new challenges. Above all, I would sum it up in that it has made me stronger. I have loved enjoying the Portuguese culture and its traditional dishes. I think it is a very beautiful city. Yes, there are certain things regarding studies here that could be improved for future students coming on Erasmus, to make their stay easier. Personally, I think it will be something I will remember for the rest of my life and that it has taught me values that will stay with me throughout my life. Maite Rabines: Being here for two months has been great, the people I've gotten to know and the experiences I've had have been wonderful. I would highly recommend this experience. There are things that may be difficult at the beginning like missing your friends and family or understanding the language at first but after two months you get used to it, especially if the person you are staying with helps you in everything, as in my case. For my part I loved all the places, the people, the food above all and I really enjoyed understanding a little bit of another language. I think this experience is great if you like to get to know new cultures and people.

My name is Camilla Nartini, I’m 16 and I’m an Italian student from Milan. I study tourism and I was given the opportunity to participate in the beautiful experience that is the Erasmus program. When I first got to the school, I had a lot of anxiety because I was alone in another country with people I didn’t know. But then every class I was going to, the classmates were polite and willing to help me. The first few weeks at ESAG were the most difficult because the school is very big and I got lost a few times. Everyone was understanding and helping me, though, especially the teachers who always made sure I understood everything. I had a wonderful time in the school, studying in the library, where there was always a very kind staff, and I also enjoyed the outdoors spaces or recreational areas. It was a pleasure having studied here for two months, which I’m going to remember it forever.
Hosting an Italian teen girl, Camilla, for the Erasmus + programme was a truly enriching and memorable experience. From the moment she arrived, I could already sense that this experience would be something special, that I never experienced. Not only did I have the opportunity to learn about the Italian culture and traditions firsthand, but I also had the chance to create a good connection with my guest and create a lasting friendship. Living with an Italian teen girl for two months allowed me to have a firsthand experience of their culture and traditions, of course, sharing ours with her. We shared meals, cooked traditional Italian dishes, also P Portuguese dishes, and even learned a few Italian phrases. Our daily conversations were filled with laughter and excitement as we discovered our shared interests and exchanged stories about our respective countries or even basic things from our lives. Furthermore, having an Italian teen girl living with me for the Erasmus programme provided a unique perspective on education and student life. The differences in the educational systems and approaches between Italy and my country opened my eyes to new perspectives and ideas, from what she told me. Additionally, having a teen girl from Italy living with me allowed me to improve my language skills in Italian. We visited a lot I o f places together, where I showed her the beauties of Porto. It is a unique experience which I recommend everyone to experience. Jéssica Guedes, 11th J
My name is Samuele Davide Vinti, I am 17 years old and I come from Limbiate, a city near Milan, Italy. I study international relations and I had the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ program, which led me to have an unforgettable experience. Upon my arrival at ESAG, I was not anxious because all the classmates and staff seemed very polite and willing to help me. I was never left alone and, for any difficulty or request, I was always listened to and helped to find a solution. My classmates were very kind and inclusive, organizing outdoor activities and games, letting me participate in these. Everyone was understanding towards me, especially the teachers who, despite the language barrier, have always been careful to make me understand the topics of their lessons. I had the fantastic experience of being a student at ESAG, studying in a happy and very equipped environment. I spent a lot of time in the library, where a nice, kind and always helpful staff work, and this helped me study, without being disturbed, the subjects of my sending school. I also really enjoyed the outdoor spaces and other recreational areas in the school, where I could have fun with my peers playing table tennis, football or Playstation.
