"The Erasmus mobility experience to Vitoria-Gasteiz with 15 students from Escola Secundária de Almeida Garrett was a truly enriching and inspiring opportunity.
During the five days in Spain, students had the chance to engage in cultural exchange, develop their communication skills in English and strengthen their sense of European citizenship.
The program offered a perfect balance between educational activities and cultural visits, allowing participants to learn about sustainability, local traditions, and innovation in the Basque Country.
The welcoming atmosphere created a strong sense of community and inclusion, helping students to grow in confidence and independence.
Overall, this Erasmus experience was a valuable contribution to the students’ personal and academic development, fostering teamwork, open-mindedness, and intercultural understanding.

Mobilidade de grupo de alunos a Saint Jean de Luz
12 a 18 de outubro de 2026
"For most of the students this was their first experience leaving the country. So, spending a week in Saint-Jean-de-Luz as part of the Erasmus programme was an unforgettable experience for them.
This beautiful coastal town, located on the border between France and Spain, offered us the unique opportunity to live in a place where two cultures and two languages coexist harmoniously — French and Spanish.
During our stay, we attended classes at a local lycée, where we met students from different backgrounds. This allowed us to exchange ideas, learn new expressions, and improve both our French and English communication skills. The school atmosphere was welcoming and encouraged us to share our own culture while discovering new perspectives on education and everyday life.
Outside the classroom, we explored the city’s charming streets, visited the harbour, and enjoyed traditional Basque food. We could feel how Saint-Jean-de-Luz reflects a perfect balance between French and Spanish influences — from the architecture to the local traditions and even the way people speak. This cultural diversity taught us to be more open-minded, adaptable, and respectful of other ways of life.
One of the greatest advantages of this Erasmus experience was learning through direct contact with people. We didn’t just study languages — we lived them. Communicating daily in English and Spanish, hearing French, on the streets and classes, and sharing experiences with local families made us realize that languages are not just words, but bridges between people. In conclusion, our Erasmus week in Saint-Jean-de-Luz helped us grow personally and academically. It strengthened our sense of European identity, improved our language skills, and deepened our appreciation for cultural diversity. It was more than a trip — it was a lesson in life, friendship, and understanding."
